Iran - Nick says no to war and sanctions
Nick Griffin, MEP opposes any sanctions or military moves against Iran. Speaking in the European Parliament this week he delivered a blunt message - it's not our business.
By Patrick Harrington
Mr Griffin condemned the Zionist Neo-Conservatives who were pushing for conflict with Iran and said: "if the EU votes for sanctions it exposes itself as bankrupt not merely financially but morally too".
The stated reason for sanctions is that Iran is developing Nuclear weapons. Yet the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic Ali Khameneia has issued a religious decree (fatwa) against the development, production, stockpiling and use of nuclear weapons by Iran. On 18 February 2010 the IAEA released a new report on Iran's nuclear program. Ivan Oelrich and Ivanka Barzashka, writing in the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, suggested "the media has seriously misrepresented the actual contents of the report" and that "in fact, no new information has been revealed." They wrote that there was "no independent assessment that Iran is engaged in weapons work", Yet the establishment media continue to peddle their lies aimed at softening-up the public for yet another unwanted foreign conflict.
Arming Israel - Attacking Iran
Iran has criticized the European Union because it believes it says it has taken no steps to reduce the danger of nuclear weapons in the Middle East. Iran has called on the state of Israel to sign the Non Proliferation Treaty (Iran has signed), accept inspection of its nuclear facilities, and place its nuclear facilities under IAEA safeguards.Iran has proposed that the Middle East be established as a proposed Nuclear Weapon Free Zone. Israel has refused to sign the NPT stating that signing the NPT would be contrary to its national security interests. Israel is currently believed to possess between 75 and 400 nuclear warheads with the ability to deliver them by intercontinental ballistic missile, aircraft, and submarine.
The provision of submarines to Israel by Germany shows the hypocrisy of the EU position. Germany donated Israel’s first two Dolphin-class submarines and split the cost of the third with Israel.Three Dolphins were delivered to Israel in 1999. In July 2011, during a meeting between German Defense Minister Thomas de Maizière and Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense minister Ehud Barak, an agreement was reached that Germany would subsidize 135 million euros of the 500-700 million USD cost of the sixth submarine. So as they try to lead us to war with Iran over the remote possibility that they will develop nuclear weapons they supply Israel with submarines to launch their existing nuclear weapons from.
Economic Consequences
The economic consequences of sanctions for EU states will be dire. Many members of the EU are now heavily dependent on Iranian oil. Some 500,000 barrels arrive in Europe every day from Iran, with southern European countries consuming most of it. Greece is the most exposed, receiving a third of all its oil imports from Iran, but Italy too depends on Iran for 13 percent of its oil needs. If this source were to dry up abruptly, the economic conditions in the two ailing countries could dramatically worsen.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has warned of the economic consequences of the EU's embargo. Stopping deliveries from the world's fifth largest producer could drive up the price of oil by 20 to 30 percent.
In our own country the motorist will pay for EU folly and war-mongering at the pumps. Costs will be added to shopping bills too as the rise in fuel prices hits businesses and they pass on costs to the consumer. The price of your weekly shop will go up. This at a time when families are struggling to make ends meet.
Nick Griffin MEP has made the position of all genuine Nationalists in our country clear. Britain has no national interest in conflict with Iran - quite the reverse. We want friendly relations with Iran. Our foreign policy should not be distorted to serve Israeli and Neo-Con agendas. As Nationalists we want to improve the lives of our people in our country and that is how we would spend public funds. Our eyes are open to those who talk of peace while helping Israel extend its nuclear weapons capability. We are not fooled.
